Hi, I'm Jo Corbin, the so-called brains of the operation!!

I've wanted to set up a singing group of my own for a while now having spent years being the rehearsal pianist for local choral societies and amateur dramatics groups etc. My idea for this group is based mainly on the fun that can be had from singing in a group, not to mention the amazing sound that can be achieved! I'm planning on steering clear of the classical genre and focusing on the more light hearted, gospel, show medleys etc. I firmly believe that choral singing should not be seen as stuffy or snobby but as something to be enjoyed and I hope this group will achieve exactly that!

As for my qualifications, I hold 2 performance diplomas in piano ( ALCM, LLCM ) and have been playing since the age of 7! I also took singing as a second study at music college although the opera side of things wasn't really my thing and I tended towards singing in local rock bands etc instead!

Having taken a bit of time out to have my gorgeous son I'm now thoroughly immersed back into the local scene and can't wait to prove that Crescendi can be one of the best and most respected choirs around! There is no need to be able to read music to join, but clearly an ability to sing in tune would be useful!

So if you haven't already signed up to be part of Crescendi then do it now!! We promise not to bite! ( until we know you better! )
